Why bother having to decide between wearing a skirt or shorts, when now you can wear both! The latest summer trend no doubt taking over your Instagram newsfeed is the skort. If the combination of names hasn’t already given it away, the skort is a pair of shorts that are made to look like a skirt. With a fabric panel across the front to resemble a skirt, a skort has all the comfort of a pair of shorts with the chick femininity of a skirt.
Skorts are essentially skirts with a pair of shorts hidden underneath, though they’ve become the must have statement piece for summer. Labels such as Zara, ASOS, Witchery, Missguided and Beginning Boutique have made this combination apparel look appealing and desired. With an endless array of colourful options to choose from, the skort is best paired with a plain tee for a casual summer look.

Sundays are all about DIY. Seeing as how lately I’ve been obsessed with coloured pot plants by Nosha, I’ve decided to have a go at making my own. Whilst doing some neon pot plant research online I came across The Proper Pinwheel. A blog totally devoted to all things DIY. Below is their simple instructions on how to make some super cute interior neon pot plants.
- brown pot (from IKEA or Bunnings)
- painter’s tape
- Neon Pink fluorescent spray paint (found at Bunnings)
Start off by wrapping the tape around your pot at your desired height. After you have taped, paint the bottom of the pot with light, short bursts of paint. Hold the can far enough away to avoid paint drips. After about 3 coats, let it dry. Then… You’re done!
