GYPSY & THE CAT are off in their studio world recording a new album right now, but have turned down the moogs and the mood lighting just long enough to let go of their first musical tease. Premiering on the trailblazing US-based blog Neon Gold, the new song ‘Lost Control‘ pays homage to a 90s french sound that originally birthed Gypsy & the Cat as a band:
“Gypsy & the Cat are back. We’ve been caught up in a whirlwind love affair with the Melbourne duo ever since they first won us over with debut heater “Jona Vark”. Flash forward to the present, and Gypsy now have two gold standard LPs under their belt and a brand new single that we’re very excited to premiere today. “Lost Control” takes the wheel and swerves directly into ‘90s French disco territory as glitchy synths and suntanned vocals take over like Empire of the Sun going through a Daft Punk phase. Get involved!!”
The contorted bass line of ‘Lost Control‘ comes as an provocative reminder of musical journey of Gypsy & the Cat that includes tracks ‘Jona Vark’, ‘Time To Wander’, ‘Pipers Song’, ‘Sorry & Bloom’.
