SAFIA

SAFIA have announced their last Australian headline tour for 2015 to commemorate the release of new single ‘Embracing Me’.

The Canberra trio premiered their latest track ‘Embracing Me’, in their stylish and sonically diverse songbook following on from ‘Counting Sheep’.

The track features crisp beats, warm waves of synth, and another rich performance from singer Ben Woolner, as his voice is manipulated across a single lyrical phrase.

There’s a little Ben choir in there,” said the vocalist this morning, explaining “at one stage it was going to be the single before ‘You Are The One’ so it’s been around for a while.” “If you’ve seen us live you’ve probably heard this song,” he continued.

The trio – Ben, Harry Sayers, and Michael Bell – also teased that the fan favourite could be the first taste of a debut album. “We’re currently working on a whole bunch of stuff.”

‘Embracing Me’ is officially released Friday 10 July ahead of the Canberra crew performing at Splendour In The Grass later this month. SAFIA will then head out on their only headline tour for the year, touring all over the country through August and September with their “biggest shot [yet] – production wise.”
